Ana Gloria Castellanos was born in Cuba and moved to the United States in 1962. She currently resides in Miami. She has shown a love of art since early childhood. Ana began developing her talent for painting while attending primary and secondary school.
While she was working on her teaching degree, she continued to study painting in various media such as oil, pastel and watercolor. She graduated from Teaching College in Cuba in 1961 and Saint Thomas University in Miami in 1986 with a Bachelor in Arts.
Soon afterwards, she began taking art classes at Lindsey Hopkins Technology school in Miami, as well as receiving private classes from different well known art teachers. These include Rafael Arazoza, graduate of San Alejandro Art School, the most prestigious school of Arts in Cuba. She has attended painting classes for many years at the Miami Art Club, which was founded in 1981 by many well known Latin American art professors and artists. While attending classes at the Miami Art Club she has been taught by some of the best art professors in their respective fields. These professors include Jorge Bustamante, Richard Irizarri, Mike Barreras and Frank Ebra.
Ana's paintings have been exhibited at Miami Art Club as well as various Art exhibitions in Miami. She has also donated paintings that were auctioned to raise funds for Corpus Christi Catholic Church, St. Agatha Catholic Church, Belen Jesuit Prep-school, Gesu Catholic Church and others.
Ana primarily enjoys painting oil portraits, landscapes, murals, as well as pastels and watercolors.
